Steps to creating the Awesome Tour of Sydney?
- Take 9 inspirational bloggers, ripe with creative talent so juicy you can taste it
- Invite them to a virtual tour around Sydney, drinking in everything it has to offer from sport to fashion and beyond
- Create one tantalizing task a week that showcases the cultural nuggets that New South Wales offers
- Ask each of the bloggers and their communities to tackle said challenge
- Offer 4 flight tickets to Sydney for the most creative
- Then simply gaze in wonder as the results come in….
So we’ve invited folk from across the world to pack their virtual suitcases, and utilize their creativity to explore a different aspect of Sydney each week… We’ll be profiling each entrant over the next few weeks, but here’s just a brief run down of the plucky participants who are ‘turning antipodean’ for the next month and a half.
But it’s not just these bastions of the online community who are battling it out for the plane tickets to Sydney. We’ve offered not only a pair of flights to the winning blogger, but 2 tickets for them to distribute amongst their community. So why not pick your favourite, pitch in and help them win. You could just find yourself winging your way to Sydney with Tourism New South Wales!
Tarik of Swagger and Swoon promises a ” a sideways glance at the pensive wanderings and wondering of, and in, Whathehelle’s world through the medium of witty word and a sporadic sketch or three…” He also has a big hat.
Anthony – Dublin born and bred, Anthony’s Irish eyes are smiling most when involved with Gaelic football. This passion mixed well with (presumably) a similar love for ‘the black stuff’ was used to good effect in the first challenge.
Angel from A Taste of Angel Cake describes herself as ‘beautiful, dynamic and creative’ (she’s not wrong), and is happy to welcome you to her blog, where elements of Sydney already reside…
Kate from xkonstantine lives by the riverside, has a penchant for bright eyeshadow and could “quite happily live on oriental food forever”. She quotes New York as her ideal destination, but we imagine Sydney would be a close second…
Miranda has created a marvelous Sydney themed blog especially for this project so she can head to Australia and have, I quote, “a wicket good time”. Hopefully there will be no pun based challenges, or she may stay grounded…
Mili from Exordinarily Ordianary has already ramped up the Ashes rivalry between Australia and England, bringing ‘sausage flinging video battles’ to her first challenge.
Elle from ‘Pipe dreams and Professions’ is an aspiring author adept with liquid prose that can evoke truly powerful imagery, and is already using her wordsmithery to aid her Sydney challenges.
Lottie from The national Lottie is a ’good Irish girl’ into burlesque and the city of Sydney, having “ranted about it for almost the past 7 years”. It’s probably time to go back…
JJ of This Little Lady went to London is “a little bit quirky, easily bored and obsessively interested in knowing everything there is to know” – expect her to be an authority on Sydney in 6 weeks….
Visit them, love them and get ready to join in with the Sydney Awesome tour…
